Responsibilities:

The Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department will play a critical role in facilitating the professional development of Community Health System's (CHS) Emergency nursing staff and ancillary staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety within our unit. This position involves planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs, as well as providing mentorship to nurses. Additionally, the Nurse Educator will actively engage in patient care to maintain clinical competence.

You will:

  • Function as a clinical leader/expert in Emergency nursing.
  • Be responsible for coordinating orientation programs, continuing inservice education, and ongoing educational programs for the nursing staff.
  • Work with unit management to organize and develop quality assurance projects.
  • Collaborate and consults with other nurses and healthcare professionals to advance nursing practice and improve clinical outcomes.
Qualifications: Education• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Experience• Approximately two years of clinical experience in emergency nursing.• Experience in patient and staff education development and implementation, quality improvement, program development and professional development required Licenses and Certifications• RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required• Additional unit specific requirements required Disclaimers:
